Vasishta Rasayanam is an Ayurvedic medicine in herbal jam form (like Chyawanprash). It is mainly used for the treatment of cough, cold and such other respiratory tract infections.

Vasishta Rasayanam benefits and indications:

Promotes complextion, longevity as well as strength

5 varieties of Kasa,
Kshaya— depletion of body tissues.
Shvasa – Asthma,
Hikka – Hiccup,
Visama-Jvara – fever (irregular fever),
Arshas – Piles,
Grahani – Malabsorption syndrome, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (sprue syndrome),
Hrud roga – heart diseases,
Aruchi – anorexia and
Pinasa – chronic rhinitis

Dosage:
Adult dose: 6 – 12 grams, once or twice a day, before food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
Pediatric dose:
For children above 1 – 3 years – 1 gram, once or twice a day.
4- 8 years – 3 grams once or twice a day.
9 – 16 years – 5 grams once or twice a day

How long to take:
It can be taken for a period of 1 – 3 months of time, based on doctors advice. For long term use, the dose is decreased gradually.
